This was great! I don’t think I would take my Substack subscribes and automatically add them to my email list. I like the idea of offering an incentive to subscribe to another platform. This way I can be sure that those on the other email platform really want to be there for specific reasons.
I use MailerLite for getting subscribers for my palm tree newsletter, with their free system, because I only have about 50 subscribers there - I don't have to pay til it reaches 1000. They provide actions needed for good deliverability. I use Mediavine's Grow forms to get subscribers.
I also use Substack for the variability in subscribers I might reach with it, but not really as a "Lead Magnet" as I haven't put them into my MailerLite list.
I do like Substack's cooperative efforts, like recommendations, etc. Plus options like Notes (I refuse to use Twitter), podcasting, and chat options.
My system is to first create my newsletter at MailerLite, where I can turn it into a PDF for download. Once I do that, I copy/paste it into Substack to send as a newsletter. Where it can also become visible on the internet, and I've gotten additional attention that way.
I often wonder, though, if It's worth it to do this duplication, even though it doesn't take long. As the categories Substack offers don't really cover what I have with my Substack. I need something like "Gardening" "Nature" "Plants" etc. I've suggested these are needed, but have had nothing change. So I have to go with those that are barely vaguely related.
Anyway, I was thinking of the new system I'm creating as a help to visit Tucson Arizona. It won't be ready for a bit yet - but at least Substack has a travel category, so I may switch to only having that one here. Time will tell!
Isn't this getting to much overwhelming and we need to use this and we need to use another tool? Can't we just create content send it out to people that want to receive our emails and that's all?
Loved this chat! 😊
same here, thanks for coming on!

thanks, Dallas! the way you describe it here makes total sense to me and seems like a good plan :)
Thanks!
I have Kajabi right now; still trying to figure out my funnel and where Substack sits in it...
Interesting read.

Anyway that's my take on how I use Substack.

I like using two systems meaning one next to Substack (also Kajabi) because people then don‘t unsubscribe in total, only on one side.
Yeah I understand it's just I find it a bit overwhelming do this, then that, if people like your content then they will look out for it and subscribe
You are most welcome.
Enjoyed it .
thank you, Linda!
