I don't currently have any subscribers or sales, but to have got this far is still invaluable, as I've got to watch live streams live or recorded, post and read Substack Notes, and post Newsletters (currently publicly for anyone to read within and outside of Substack to increase awareness).
I'm aiming to shorten my newsletters as I go along, as the two topics I've covered so far have covered a fair amount of information, but hopefully I'll find the key to attract subscribers and sales at a later date. I'm on multiple platforms including Benable, and what I've found is that I receive many clicks, but no sales, as I've reduced the price of my eBooks, for instance, but the fact that many people have Clicked on whatever I recommend of mine and other people's is still a Good sign, as it shows people are interested in whatever I recommend.
In terms of Substack posts, I've gained many clicks to my Utility bills article. I couldn't possibly have foreseen that I'd receive so many clicks, but like with my Mobile Phone tariffs article, I am very grateful to everyone who has read my articles.
Your post is so full of juicy tips, Claud. Although I have known Substack a long time ago, it's only this time, I got interested in having my own newsletter here. I am hooked! Thanks soO much! 🙏🤍🥹
Claudia, thanks for sharing. Helpful to a guy who just started two days ago. Congrats on your success. I hope I can be half as successful as you on my journey.
Silence in any conversation is unsettling but also liberating when harnessed correctly. I’m not a writer by trade, so much to learn and grow.
This reminded me of something I just shared that might be helpful if you ever wrestle with crafting headlines or titles.
I posted a plug-and-play prompt that helps generate 10 strong, scroll-stopping Substack titles, perfect if you want more people to actually open and read your work.
I have been on Substack from the beginning of this year. I am still finding my footing yet. I have about 6 or 7 publications, very few note. I have made a few comments on some other people's Note.
I now want to pick up momentum, so I want to read what will give me the right orientation. I think reading your "New to Substack? These 5 Lessons Will Save You Weeks of Confusion" is a serendipitous encounter. I have taken some important points and wrote in my journal for further reference.
Thank you for putting this together. I'm new here and still have lots to learn. Have discovered certain things that you mention, but other aspects remain a mystery. All in good time, I guess is the saying. It's encouraging to read that you had such success with Substack. Congratulations, Claudia! I expect to be here for the long haul. Now I just have to find where I can follow you...
TOTAL newbie here!! I read through the material, but think I'm gonna be re-reading a time or two. I felt overwhelmed at the vast amount of content provided and covered that it just didn't quite "sink in". Seems I have a good deal of re-hauling to do. Kinda feel like the real me is gonna be "lost in translation" modifying so many components. Aye yi yi... wish me patience and luck!!🍀
Yes, I definitely that Notes is more like an ongoing conversation to build trust. I do want to have a go at lives, I think what's holding me back is that I often can't plan for a set time. It would be jump on as and when I can.
I was wondering. You mention sections but according to Substack documentation, they are meant to send different newsletters inside a single publication.
If you want to split your content into separate sections, shouldn't you use Substack tags instead (which is what I did)?
I like to use both actually - sections don’t really work here the way they were intended - but they give you a bit of extra playroom. for example, with a section I could write a headline, set up a different podcast etc for it, while in tags I cannot do it.
These are invaluable suggestions.

Thanks for the link. I’ve found how to follow you. And I listened to your voice on a video. It sounds like you are originally German, is that right?
that’s correct :)

that’s what I do, too and it works well :)
Yes, I'll give it a go.
Are lives only seen by our subscribers? Or are they public?
LIVES can be seen by everybody, but you can make them only for paid subscribers
Ah that’s cool. Video drains my energy so if I’m going to do it I want it to have max visibility lol.
thanks for the effort to make this simple…
thank you :)
