Exactly! Sub heads and white space lets the words breathe.

White space - yes - I've noticed how hard it is to read long dense paragraphs.

Sub headings, no more than four lines in a paragraph, single line sentences are fine. Probably a bunch of things but I don’t think of it, I just do it if that makes sense.

Great advice as always! As a seasoned writer, especially in digital media, I can say you have hit the main points! Nothing hurts my brain more than to see either one huge block of texts or multiple paragraphs of block text.

Does the 1-3-1 serve as a whole post? Or an intro?

1-3-1 can be a for paragraphs.. so I like to use it here and there throughout my newsletter/posts

I’d just like to say Claudia that I’m already feeling the benefit of this format. Thank you for introducing me to it.

Design...thanks for this. I typically write in an other space (like Word) and then copy over and it's easy to forget this piece.

Thanks Claudia for this insightful article! I wanted to add more elaboration to the 1-3-1 system that you mentioned for those who are not familiar

This is something that I try to use with my newsletter as well

1️⃣ Opening Statement: Start with a clear and engaging sentence to grab attention and introduce your perspective.

2️⃣ Three Supporting Points: Provide three concise pieces of evidence, examples, or reasons to back your statement. These should be brief yet powerful.

3️⃣ Closing Statement: End with a strong conclusion or a thought-provoking takeaway to leave a lasting impression.

The best storytelling isn’t cluttered, it’s strategic. White space psychology helps shape not just what’s seen, but what’s felt.

I wonder if it’s possible to create one or more anchor links up at the top of an article linking to sections farther down, so readers can skip to certain subtopics or to a TL;DR summary, etc. For longer or more complex posts, you could put a simple table of contents at the top, and let viewers jump around more easily.

Does anyone know if this is a current feature?

hmm, good question. I don’t think it is, but I’ll check it out!

This has been helpful!

I write as I talk and while I don’t want to change that, I want it to flow and be felt.

Thank you!!
