what a great post! I almost quit Substack after 6 months of (I must admit) inconsistent posting and little to no growth. Your post hs come at the right time and has given me the spark of motivation I need to keep going.. Thank you!
Claudia, your DM caught my attention when I subscribed to your excellent Substack because you are only the second writer (out of 100+) to respond to my subscription with a DM. It seems like a great tactic, but you and Jack and I could all be wrong. Have you received any negative pushbck from your thanks-a-ton-for-subscribing DMs?
Love this article and loving Substack. I had this Substack a couple years ago as a “roundup” type newsletter of different things in the remote career / digital nomad world.
It was just ok. I let it fizzle out and now I’m back excited to put more quality thought into it.
Also interested to hear about your Medellín travels. I’m actually planning on maybe going in Oct or Nov.
Thank you for the motivation! Mambo is adorable. 😍
🥰
Hang in there, Mambo!
😅🧡
I'm moving here from Medium which seems dead in the water. I hope to grow here over time, we will see.
I love it here! Also moved from medium here 🙌

Welcome to Colombia.. are you staying in Medellín or Bogotá? I moved here three years ago, and love it, let me know if you need any tips!
hi Sara, currently in Medellín - it’s fantastic. thank you so much 🥰
ahh awesome! I will be there later this week! Let me know if you make it to Jericó, it is a beautiful heritage town about 3 hours from Medellín!
I like reading honest stories about failure and success. They are always interconnected.
I’m looking forward to reading more from you.
thanks, Angelina 🥰
These are such tangible takeaways any writer can implement now! Thanks for the insight and encouragement.
I appreciate the back story of your journey and encouragement.
thanks, Megan. very kind of you ✨
I wasn't sure if I should dm subscribers, but seeing as it worked for you, I think I will try it
I was surprised - I really feel it can make a difference :)
I'll give it a go
What do you say to them?
Thanks a ton for subscribing 🤩✨.
I’m really glad you're here. If there’s anything you’d like me to cover or dive into more, just give me a shout—I’m all ears.
If you’re thinking about monetizing your writing or digital products, I can help with that too. My paid newsletter goes deeper into what works.
Plus, I just launched a 12-email course sharing the 12 key lessons I learned from gaining 500 subscribers in 3 months on Substack.
Thanks again for being along for the ride 🎢✨
P.s.: I’ve set up a free Slack group for Substack users to connect and support one another. It's a space where any Substack-related questions can be answered. Feel free to join here: https://join.slack.com/t/wanderwealthcommunity/shared_invite/zt-2ou990g5w-naUQWl9JoKAF89l5tCEZng

Oh wow, this is great, thank you for sharing
I like the grind even on the days that it feels pointless since I'm still buried deep in the algorithm.
it really is about interacting, writing, being present. eventually the algorithm (and the community) will pick you up🚀
Great actionable read! Thank you so much for sharing for those of us coming behind you.
Thank you so much, Charlie 🥰
