Getting into the flow of writing is so important. I often find myself in the zone when I'm immersed in my writing. I get so much more productive. The issue I face is the starting up part where I will often take more energy to start the focus before getting into the groove.

Coffee and reading through what other writers are writing warm me up and give me the urge to start my own writing. Being in a positive and inspiring environment is so important!

I use binaural beats (Brain.fm) and headphones.

There’s research to support your habit of getting on with it early.

This video from Rian Doris of The Flow Research institute might be interesting ❤️ https://youtu.be/XJOsPyyYork?si=0-NPUQk2U7C1XbMW

I have to a certain extent. It’s not one minute, but it’s certainly sooner than it used to be… I do think it helps as you’re still close to sleep. As long as you’re far enough away from being asleep to do what you need to do of course! I think it’s because you’re doing hard/scary things before the resistant part of your brain has time to even wake up

Thanks for sharing your tips, Claudia!

My "warming up" phase is having a relatively quick meditation. I understood it helps me more than focusing on something related to what I want to do next. Just saying! ;)

Ah, am I unpopular if I say that multitasking is like juggling grenades—inefficient, exhausting, and bound to blow up?

oh, I love that - do you use a guided meditation, or do you just do it by yourself? I completely agree about multitasking—it really doesn't help with getting things done

Multitasking doesn't help me at all!

About the meditation, mine is pretty easy. My routine is breathing awareness, body scan, visualisation of calm, and focus on the present. Then a gradual return

Very interesting piece. Flow comes to me as I write. I first close my eyes, clear my mind, and think of elevating my energy. Flow strengthens as I write.
